Here’s a few of our suggestions: 

• Harrington Park on Horseshoe Lake Road provides hikers a wonderful glimpse of the Minden Wild Water Preserve and rapids. 
• Minden Hills has many other trails to enjoy a nice walk among great scenery. 
• Snowden Park is an option for those wanting a little longer hike and options of shorter trails along the way. The wetland and forest preserve also provides winter activities such as snowshoeing and cross-country skiing, while bird watchers enjoy the many species on hand.
• Minden Wild Water Preserve   With 100 acres, this park includes campsites with picnic tables and fire pits. When you’re not canoeing or kayaking, take advantage of the three-kilometre trail system on foot or on your bike.

We are right on the shore of Crystal Lake, with plenty of open space for your powerboats, water skis and watercraft. You can bring your own boat and gear and launch from our dock, we can rent it for you, or you can rent equipment directly from nearby Crystal Lake Marina. 

Explore Kawartha’s secluded rivers and wide-open lakes by canoe or kayak. Catch a lakeside breeze in your sails or go houseboating with family and friends!

• Sir Sam’s Ski Hill:  Ski at your skill level on 14 runs of 40 acres of Canadian Shield hardwood forest.
• Devil’s Elbow Ski and Snowboard Area: Located amongst the rolling hills of Bethany, whether you are a black-diamond veteran or a first timer, there’s a perfect run for you!
• Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoeing: Explore more than 600 km of trails that link many of our charming communities together.  (Snowshoeing is a great choice for a fun winter activity because it’s easy to learn, inexpensive and can be enjoyed by people of all ages and fitness levels).
